START: A Starter Kit Jar

   Giving gifts is a confusing business, right? For instance, one of your friend is going to have a birthday soon, but you don't know what his / her favorite gifts! Sometimes not giving the right gifts can become a serious problem, you know - maybe they will think that you mock them, or whatsoever.
But, I can help you - I have an idea!
   How about you give them a jar full of things they'll need when they have their unique dream jobs? Like, if he / she wants to be a designer, fill the jar with drawing stuff, like pencils with different grades, coloring pencils, pens, coloring pens, rulers, etc. Or you can fill the jar with items they need for regular occasion, like travel-size bathroom things! It's okay as long as the jar can hold all of them.
   So, let's get started!

Here's what you should know about the one who will be the receiver of the jar:

1. You should know their unique hobbies / dream jobs / projects they want to make & things their dream job / projects required.
2. You should know when are their birthdays.

For the jar:

1. Choose big jars so you can fill it with many things.
2. Use plastic jars- just in case the receiver accidentally drop it.

1. Fill, Decorate!

    I fill my jar with mini stationeries - for writing on-the-go. And I decorated it with washi tapes - simple! For more jar-decorating ideas, take a look on my past post.

3. Give it.
    You can give it to your neighbor, your friend, your relative, your coworker, basically you can give it to anyone who interested with stuff in it / anyone who need the things inside!

6 Uniquely Useful How-To Apps

   Almost everything in the world need guides. Peoples that have a religion need their gods' guides so they don't go to the wrong way. A craft-maker (like us) needs guides about making a craft, or using some specific craft materials. Conclusion: We All Need Guides.

   And that's why some people make how-to apps, so we know how to make / repair things!

   (By the way, this is my first 'list-of-websites' post since my blog's very first post ... )

1. Instructables

   

    Instructables is my favorite how-to app, you know! It has tons of How-Tos from many kinds of topics, and also, we can post our own!

   Its other uniqueness is, we can compete in many competitions - and they have cool prizes for the winners! But I hate its outdated smartphone UI & logo ... hope they will update 'em!

2. WikiHow

    Alike its counterpart Instructables, WikiHow also contains many how-tos (and yes, we can also post our own there), but it focuses more in topics about life (like 'How to Have a Talent, How to be Interesting, How to Travel in Russia, etc.) But it still has topics about DIYs, so don't worry!

   Unfortunately, like Instructables, It has out-of-date smartphone UI & logo. Seriously ...

3. Pinterest

    Pinterest has many functions, I think. It can be our inspiration source, and also our how-to website. Nowadays we can find tutorials about making ROBOTS - so, that's why I think Pinterest is also a how-to app.

   For its UI & logo, I think they are simple yet beautiful! Just hoping that one day, they will create a craft competition / event ...

4. BrightNest

   It's like WikiHow for your home! It has many types of clever household hacks! Also, it provides to-do lists, so you know which projects you should do next. Plus, ... an interactive home quiz! This app is so awesome!

5. Snapguide

    If you need an Instructables in your life but you prefer something fancier, Snapguide is the one for you! Yes, it looks like Instructables, but with georgeous UI that looks like Pinterest's. And they also held contests!

   Basically, Trusper is Snapguide with funny blue tosca color. But it has unique Q&A page, where you can post some photos in your questions, plus a page for redeeming your gift cards. Simply cool!

Instagram Favorites: January

 

   Have you ever find some cool blogs + bloggers in Instagram? My answer is, obviously, yes! Usually I didn't know them because they don't do ad / button swaps with blogs I usually read, but that doesn't mean they don't have cool blogs! Here are some lists of 'em! (Some of them are just cool Instagram-ers that don't have blog, so ...)

1. @pepperandtwine

   I still don't know about her secrets of how to make and write beautiful journals! I am not a master of decorating journals - although, yes I have a journal (for topic ideas, visit here). And for y'all journal-writers, you must follow this awesome account. IT'S SO FREAKIN' AWESOME.

2. @graciusblog

   Seriously, her stationeries are freakin'ly cute and unique! She also have some helpful tips and recipes and many more! Plus, her cat is very, very, very ... cute ...

   And ... don't forget to visit her awesome blog here.

3. @bella.renehan

   Pale pink + gray = perfect! That's how I told you about her blog - seriously, it's simple, but also colorful! And it's full of things we love - DIYs and fashions! You can find 'em here ... go on!

4. @pastellights

   Seriously, who doesn't love pastel colors? From its name, you know that it's full of pastel colors, and well ... yes, it's true! Her Instagram, her blog ... pastel colors everywhere! And she have so much cool DIYs and fashion inspirations ... here!

5. @wildzest

   She's a traveling blogger, you know, that's why ... she has many cool landscape photos! Her blog is unbelievably simple - but its header is so colorful! If you are one of those traveling pants, you must check her Instagram and blog, you know!

   Yummy! Cakes, breads, coffees, foods, sweet things, wrapped in one Instagram! Seriously, this makes me hungry! And y'all bloggers can also get hungry - she has a blog!

Inspirations & Others #1

   I have a compilation of inspirations for you today! To be honest, I post them in one post either because their tutorials are too short to have their own posts, or because I want to share it to you - but already made it without taking photos for tutorial, and don't have some of the materials to make another.

Washi Tape Paper Clip

   All you need are a paperclip and a washi tape. Stick the tape on the paper clip, and ta-da!

   DIY Notebook Cover

   You just need a note book, a glue, some washi tapes, some cute illustrations (I got them from National Geographic for Kids' Fun Stuff Pages), some markers, scissors and some cardstock papers.

   Cardstock papers, some markers, scissors, washi tapes, and a ruler - it's that simple.

DIY Painted Planter

   One, two, three ... Oh, don't mind me, just counting abandoned planters scattered around my house.

   Planters, are for plants. But are there any useful ways to get rid of your planters? I'll give you the answer, but first, prepare these materials:

1. An abandoned planter

2. Some poster paints (red, blue, yellow, white)

3. Some paintbrushes

4. A pallet

5. A glass of water (for the paint)

6. A glass of tea / coke / coffee (for yourself)

Ready?

1. 

   First, white paint!

2. 

   Second, paint it as you want!

   You can also paint the inside ... 

   ... and done!

What can the planter do?

1. An Mini Terrarium / decoration

    Place: Sittingroom , bedroom, bathroom, etc. 

2. A Pencil Holder 

   Place: Bedroom, Workshop/craft room, study room, etc.

Tips

1. If you want to place the planter indoor, paint it using poster paint. But, if you want to place it outdoor, use iron paint or wood paint - anything waterproof.

2. For brighter color, cover it with white paint first.

3. Wash it first before you begin to paint it.

4. Planters usually have holes, so either you can cover them or use the planters to hold things that don't fit in the holes
